The Amazon Kindle is for readers.

And readers are a passionate bunch. Kindle makes it easier for them to read more—anytime, anywhere—on a screen that looks and reads like real paper, even in bright sunlight. Kindle customers love that they can think of a book and start reading it in 60 seconds no matter where they are. They love that they can easily carry their whole library (more than 1500 books) in a small, lightweight device that they can hold with one hand. They are delighted that they can discover new genres and new authors.

Now, the Kindle folks want you to make their next great television commercial. Show how Kindle makes the reading experience better for readers no matter how, what, or where that person likes to read. Convey the essence of the great Kindle experience by focusing on one or several of Kindle’s features in a unique and cool way.

Be sure to read the creative brief for more details; there’s lots of useful information that will help you shape your video message.

Amazon.com will select at least one video for use and its creator will receive a one-time fee of $10,000. In addition, Poptent will make 5 editors’ choice awards totaling $2,000.

Deadline for Submissions: July 31, 2010. Amazon will announce a winner at a later date, after reviewing all entries. Assignment is available for U.S. residents only.
